This was their 10 year anniversary. If you’re watching this now or in the future, this was right when COVID-19 was starting to ease up so they were allowed to have a small intimate wedding.
They always wanted to get married in South Lake Tahoe in a smaller wedding but they didn’t imagine it to be this small. I think they originally planned for about 25 people or so.
For their actual day, they had their immediate family for their intimate wedding. As I said before, this was for their 10 year anniversary, so they wanted to get married on this day. And it was so special, surrounded by their closest family, and super sweet. I kept telling her this is how I imagined my wedding day to be!
On their lovely elopement day, we started out with a little first look. We found a nice shady spot so they could react however they wanted to without worrying about the sun and shade spots.
Their wedding was attended by their immediate family only, and it was amazing! Her father walked her down the “aisle”, which was a pathway to the lake. The ceremony held by Frank Ray Dulay was short, fun, and sweet!
After they said “I do” and sealed it with a kiss, we did a mini photo session just the two of them on the lake. Afterward, they had a nice donut reception with their family. LOVE donuts! The Hytch did an amazing job!
We did family photos after that, followed by some more couple photos, with their dog.
Overall, start to finish was about 2 or so hours. They were happily married in the most relaxing way.
So many people, even locals asked to not divulge information about this special location so I will not disclose the actual location of this place in South Lake Tahoe, but it was beautiful! Feel free to reach out to me if you want to have a similar elopement.
There is a small parking area on the side of the road.
This location offers the Tahoe lake views along with a serene meadow – perfect for a small picnic!
This is mostly helpful information for photographers! This day was really bright there was some clouds, but the entire time we were there, there was no cloud coverage on of the sun for you photographers out there, just so you know, the background between the lighting and everything. And I try to stay true to color. So I didn’t want to like make it overly blue or brown.
You can tell from her dress that you know it is that’s how I usually determine the correct white balance.
In the afternoon in June, around 2pm, the sun was on the California side of the lake, so I was able to pose the couple with sun and the lake behind them.
Setup – Mountain Vibes Rentals
Floral – Boho Bouquets
Event planner – The Hytch
Officiant – Frank Ray Dulay
Overall, I am so happy I was able to be part of this wedding, and harsh light and all, I hope I capture their day really well.
We had a lot of fun. Their dog was hilarious. And basically this wedding was why I love small intimate weddings. It’s simple, beautiful, and happy. They were just able to enjoy the rest of their day with their family and it was amazing.
